Nowata Robotics

Competitive VEX Robotics is an exciting international robotics program that ignites enthusiasm for discovery, science, and technology in students of all ages.  Every year the students are presented with a different challenge that they work on during the entire school year. There are two divisions in which Nowata Public Schools are going to participate this 2022-23 school year.

VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) - High School and Middle School

VEX IQ Competition (VIQC) - Middle School and Elementary School

Competitive VEX Robotics is sponsored by the REC Foundation information about which can be found at http://www.roboticseducation.org/.

The program promotes teamwork, so students are grouped into teams of 3-6 people. The teams work together to design, prototype, build, document, and compete with a robot using VEX parts and tools. The Nowata Public School teams are mentored by the advisor and coach, Mr. Jason Prince.

VEX VRC Team 44044

VEX VRC is designed for High School and Middle School aged students. The teams use the VEX V5 system to build their robot that they use to compete in the challenge for the year.

This year the challenge is called "Spin Up" and is similar to disk golf. The description and video can be found here.

Want to Join?

Nowata Robotics is looking for enthusiastic, committed members to work on the 2022-2023 VEX VRC and VIQC challenge. This membership requires a lot of time, dedication, and commitment. Before you apply for this please ask yourself, "Am I ready for this challenge?". Your membership will require you to make this a priority and not just a “go to when I feel like it” event. Members are formed into smaller teams and the success of the team depends on the regular participation of its members.  Your membership is a full year commitment, not a few months worth of a season event. Meetings start as school is beginning and can end in May if you make it to the World Championship. Work sessions are every week and competitions are on the weekend. They last about 12 hours and require traveling.
