Today's 9th-grade science fair featured many creative and well-done projects from our students! The winners were: First place- Joesi Maple, Second place- Kali Turk, and Third place- Tatum Copeland. Congratulations, winners!

Baseball games for today against Porter have been canceled.
Oklahoma Lake Patrol and Nowata Fire Dept. took time from their busy jobs to educate Nowata Elementary about water safety.

The Freshman Science Fair will take place on Monday, March 9th, in the New Gym. Set-up will begin at 8:30 a.m., and judging will begin shortly after. Parents are welcome to come view the exhibits while judging is taking place. The winners will be announced once judging has concluded.
8th Grade took a field trip to JA Inspire on Wednesday, February 25th. JA Inspire is a premier career exploration event for middle and high school students, featuring in-person expos and virtual hubs that connect students with industry professionals.

March 2nd-March 7th Middle School and High School Events and Activities

Congratulations to the Nowata HS Choir and several members from both HS and MS Choir at OSSAA Vocal Solo and Ensemble. All of our events did well and represented Nowata with great Pride.
Receiving a Superior Rating and advancing to State Competiton in April are: Wisdom Vincent (solo), Alexis Warner (solo), Nevada Gilmore (solo) Etta Montgomery and Jana Lippert (duet) and the entire Nowata HS Choir (large ensemble).
Receiving a Good rating is Emily Gray (solo), Abby Fisher and Aaryn Horner (duet) and Melody Dalton and Australia Overturf (duet).
I am so proud of all our students and the job they did. A huge thank you to Marilyn Custer for accompanying the events today and Robert Fisher for driving our bus.


Lady Ironmen and Ironmen both head to Tonkawa for day two of regionals today! Lady Ironmen take on Hooker at 1:00 while the Ironmen take on Tonkawa tonight at 7:30.
Huge congratulations to Evelyn Campbell, Nowata’s 2nd girl ever to qualify for state in powerlifting after earning 3rd place at regionals—what an incredible accomplishment and a proud moment for our community!

Basketball playoffs continue this week! The Ironmen will travel to Pawhuska tonight to take on Fairland at 7:30, while the Lady Ironmen will travel to Pawhuska Thursday at 6:00. Come out and support these young men and women!
Attention Junior Parents and Students: We are offering ACT practice in the learning lab during tutoring on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:20 to 3:50 until spring break.

February 23rd-February 28th Middle School and High School Events and Activities

Congratulations to members of the Nowata HS Band who participated at OSSAA Solo and Ensemble at Pryor. Our students represented Nowata well and with pride. Several of our events will be advancing to the state level of competition in April.
Receiving a Superior Rating and advancing to state is: Mason Greathouse (bari sax solo), Jana Lippert (clarinet solo), Jana Lippert and Mason Greathouse (alto saxophone duet) and Jana Lippert and Lauryn Keaton (clarinet duet).
The following students did a very good job receiving an Excellence Rating. Jeracho Pettit (clarinet solo), Lauryn Keaton (clarinet solo), Brookie Morgan (snare solo), Emily Gray (bell solo), Shelby Webster (timpani solo), Rhett Buesser (snare solo) and Lydia Gavrila (snare solo).
A huge thank you to Marilyn Custer for accompanying on the piano and assistant director Victoria Morgan for driving the bus and helping motivate and encourage our students.


Today the HS Band participated at the 1st Annual CCC Band Day at Coffeyville Community College. The HS Band spent the day with three other bands in a mass band setting as they sight read and prepared for an afternoon concert. The Nowata HS Band was also featured as they performed one of their festival pieces at the concert. it was a day filled with music and fun as the HS Band represented Nowata with pride!
