High school basketball games at Chelsea on Friday will start at 3:00 for varsity girls and 4:30 for varsity boys. There is no JV game.

Attention High School parents and students.

Letterman jackets will be delivered on Wednesday, December 17th, between 8:30 and 9:00 AM for students who have paid the $100 deposit or paid in full.

Please note: Any remaining balance is due at the time of delivery.

The Nowata Music Department brought some holiday cheer this weekend to both the communities of Nowata and Lenapah. On Friday the Nowata HS and MS Choir sang carols at the Nowata tree lighting as the community kicked off its Hometown Christmas Weekend. On Saturday the HS Band participated in both the Lenapah and Nowata Christmas parades. On Monday December 15th the Music Department will present their Winter Concert at 7pm in the MS Gym. Please come join us for a night filled with some winter magic and beautiful music.

Nowata High School will be getting in the holiday spirit with dress-up days next week, before finals on Thursday and Friday.

We are now taking sign-ups for Second Semester Driver’s Education — FREE of cost to all NHS students!

Nowata High School will be hosting the Ty Hewitt Memorial Tournament this week. Come out and check out some local teams along with your own Nowata Ironmen and Lady Ironmen

What a fun Friday we had at Nowata Elementary! Students were greeted by our local firefighters who helped keep kids safe by unloading cars and doing crosswalk duty. Next, our fabulous first responders from Nowata Fire, EMS, Sheriff, and Police visited with each grade level. They shared tips about staying safe during the holiday season and read the kids a Christmas story. The firefighters are holding a coloring contest for the students, and the winning students will get to have lunch with the firefighters!!! THANK YOU FIRST RESPONDERS!! Your friends at Nowata Elementary love you!

Today the young men of our MS and HS Choir joined 400 other choir students to celebrate vocal music at OU Real Men Sing Vocal Workshop. Our gentlemen; Kyle Hanigan, Adam Oxford, Adan Mimbs, Rhett Buesser, Aiden Wallace, Soren Tidewell and Gabriel Drake represented Nowata with great pride as they did an amazing job. These young men worked all day on music in a clinic situation and then performed an evening concert. Way to represent Nowata boys!!!!

Nowata High School Basketball tips off the season tonight at Caney Valley. Girls play at 6:00 with the boys to follow at 7:30. Come out and support these young men and ladies. We'd love to see you there.

Statement of Nowata Public Schools:

Nowata Public Schools is aware of a situation involving the arrest of one of its employees as a result of an ongoing law enforcement operation. The safety of students is the school district’s top priority, so the employee has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues. The school district will continue to cooperate with law enforcement officials to ensure proper justice is carried out but is unable to comment further as this is a developing personnel matter.
