REMINDER!! ALL Sophomores will be taking the Pre-ACT Tomorrow: Tuesday Oct. 24. Testing starts first thing in the morning. Don't be late!

I want to share something that’s on my heart this morning. It’s a little personal in nature, but hopefully it will resonate in one way or another with many of you.
I fail… a lot. Every. Single. Day.
I’m either failing myself, my wife, my kids, my coworkers, and/or people I’ve never even met. When the big tragedies and failures of life knock us to our knees, friends, family, and neighbors seem closer and more readily available to help pick us up and put us back on track. To me, it’s the small failures, missteps, and runs of bad luck that occur frequently that do the most damage. It feels like a death by a thousand cuts. In and of themselves, those innocuous little miscues might seem trivial and inconsequential, so we shoulder them alone and keep trying to push through. But over time, they sure take their toll as we stumble and fall and try to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps over and over again.
It’s hard and it’s tiresome, so why do we do it? Why not just stay on the ground?
I think we keep going because of the hope of what’s waiting for us on the other side—and that is redemption. It's the redemptive power of resilience, the redemptive power of courage, and the redemptive power of love and faith. Life is hard, but you’re not alone. At the end of a long day, I often think of this quote: “Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.’” I hope you have great day, and life’s burdens are small.

Happy Friday! Coach Johnston's alternative education class made their annual Jack o' lanterns today! Very artistic group this year. Of course Coach J likes his the best! Go Ironmen!

Parents, your child should have brought home a report card and an Impact Aid form. The school needs this form to be signed and brought back ASAP. Please have your students bring the Impact Aid form back on Monday if they haven't already. Thank you for your support.

High School Red Ribbon Week will be next week!

Elementary Parents, beginning today, for after school pick up line, there will be 2 lanes open on Simpson until you come into the parking lot. We will begin funneling into one lane once you turn into the school off of Simpson. This is for the safety and protection of our students and staff. A staff member will be out in the road helping to direct traffic, please be patient and kind as we make these changes.

School Picture Day will be this Friday, October 20!!!

Today is a day to celebrate!! Jennifer Prince and her marching Ironmen are making history! It's been well over a decade since the marching band received straight superior ratings at the OSSAA Regional Marching Competition, but that drought ended yesterday as our band earned the highest ratings possible at the regional contest held in Oologah. Help us in celebrating and congratulating these young men and women who have worked tirelessly for their accomplishments this year. It's a proud day in Ironmen Nation!!

A HUGE Congratulations to the Nowata Marching Ironmen for receiving a SUPERIOR Rating at OSSAA Regional Marching Contest. I am so PROUD of all the hard work, dedication and commitment that has gone into this year. It is definitely a time to celebrate!!!
What a great way to close our competitive marching season!

Fall Break Football Tonight! Varsity game tonight! 7:00. Pink Out/Western night. So all you cowboys and cowgirls come out and if you've got pink boots, that's all the better!!

My wife and I are sitting in the airport waiting on our flight to Chicago to see our son and his family (okay... full disclosure... we're going to see our grandkids. Seeing everyone else in the house is just a collateral benefit). Anyway, I was scrolling Facebook, and I ran across this picture of Calvin and Hobbes. It made me smile because I imagine that's how staff and students all across Oklahoma feel today. Kids are going back to their owners until next week. I wish our staff and students a well-deserved fall break. Relax, laugh and play. Time is about the only thing we can't get back, so enjoy it while you can. See you soon, folks. ❤️
