Mrs. Scott’s students did the lab “Let it Glow”, in which they used heat shock bacterial transformation to introduce plasmid DNA into a safe strain of E. Coli. They observed ampicillin resistance in the bacteria and expression of eGFP, enhanced green fluorescent protein! Our new Winston Fluorescence Readers are awesome!
Hello Everyone! Today is the Nowata Bands and Choirs Winter Concert. The concert will begin at 7 pm in the MS Gym. We would like to invite family, friends and the community of Nowata to join us for an evening filled with beautiful music that is sure to get you into the Holiday Spirit.

Mrs. Scott’s Environmental Science class harvested their first crop of lettuce and micro greens! They shared with the third hour zoology class and had a salad and baked potato day!

Monday- Dewey @ Nowata 6,7,8th grades. Game times approx. 5, 5:45. 6:30. Girls in New Gym, Boys in Old Gym.
Tuesday- JV/Varsity at Chelsea. JV start 4:30. Varsity start 6:30.
Friday - JV/Varsity at Commerce. Same time schedule as Tuesday.
There are changes to the meals this evening at the Ty Hewitt Memorial tournament. Back by popular demand, we will be serving walking tacos and pulled pork sandwiches for $5 each. Saturday’s meals will be Chick-fil-a sandwiches for lunch and pizza for dinner. Come out and enjoy good food and some entertaining high school basketball!
Mrs. Franke’s life skills classes are working on their sewing skills while making Christmas ornaments!

Mrs. Franke’s Life Skills classes are learning the importance of serving the community! They worked hard today to help prepare meals for the upcoming tournament!

This week the Ty Hewitt Memorial Tournament will run Monday through Saturday (excluding Wednesday). The concession stand will be offering meal choices each evening. Come enjoy some great basketball and delicious food!

Today I took 7 of our male vocalist to the Real Men Sing Vocal Workshop and Concert in Norman. These young men from our MS and HS Choir represented Nowata with a job well done. Jacob Horner from our HS Choir was selected out of 200 members of the HS choir to be a part of 9 man small ensemble to participate in a soli section in the song Cripple Creek. It was a job well done by all. In total their were 600 young men from around the State of Oklahoma and part of Texas that came together today to sing.
