The week of February 8-12 is Basketball Homecoming Week. We will have Spirit Week at Nowata Elementary!
Valentine's Day
The classroom party will be on February 12th! The classroom teacher of your student will be contacting you. You may have gifts delivered to the school. If we do not receive the gift by 2:00 p.m., we will not guarantee delivery. Please call your flower shop early or bring your gift to the school before that time! Thank you!
Basketball Update: The Varsity games tonight at Oklahoma Union ARE being played. Girls start at 6:30.
Saturday's games have been cancelled. All Juniour High games next week are cancelled.
Nowata Elementary Update
At this time, we have a Covid positive count of 10.
We have family siblings in this count, with a total of 6 of our school families involved.
2.39 % of our elementary school population.
We have quarantined classrooms and teachers where the students have been positive—using the guidelines from Washington County Health Department. The students and parents have received notifications using ClassDojo.
We have not had any new positive reports since Tuesday. 2/2/2021

The Junior High boys are playing at home this evening. The 6th grade playes at 5:00, 7th grade at 5:45, 8th grade at 6:30 and JV at 7:15. Please do not arrive early and leave after your game is over.
High School Basketball Update:
Friday, February 5th, we play Varisty boys and girls only at Oklahoma Union. The girls will start at 6:30. They have requested that we do not show up until 6:15.
Saturday, February 6th, we have scheduled a new home game. Our Varsity girls will play Wright Christian's Varsity at 2pm. Our JV boys will play their Varsity boys immediately after.
Boys and Girls Club of Nowata will be closed from today (2/2) until February 15th. The Teen Center will still be open.

Glenn C. Moore Elementary School Update
Since January 28th, we have had five positive COVID-19 cases at the elementary school. We have quarantined the contacts of each case. We have been cautious and are following the CDC guidelines. Art Club Fundraiser
The Junior Varsity boys and Varsity boys will be playing Caney Valley in Nowata tonight. The JV game will start at 5:15 and the Varsity game at 6:30.
Nowata Vs. Caney Valley Varsity Basketball Announcement:
Tonight, January 29th, the Nowata Varsity Girls and Caney Valley Varsity Girls will play at 6:30pm.
Monday, February 1st, Nowata JV boys will play Caney Valley followed immediately by the JV girls game. At 6:30pm Nowata Varsity Boys will play Caney Valley Varsity Boys.
All changes to the original schedule are due to COVID related issues.
Sophomores will take the Pre-ACT on February 23rd at 8 a.m. If you are a virtual student please contact Deedee Hewitt at ddhewitt@npsok.org to schedule a time to do the interest inventory.
At Chelsea tonight the 6/7th grade girls will start at 5:00, the 6/7th grade boys at 5:45 and the 8th grade boys at 6:30. Obviuosly, start times can depend on what happens during the previos game so the estimated times we have given are assuming that games run smoothly with very little interuptions.
Chelsea will be following a mask mandate and request you to social distance at the Junior High games this evening. They would like you to show up 15 minutes before the start of the game your child in playing in and leave immediately after your child's game has finished.
The 6th grade girls, 6th/7th grade boys and 8th grade boys will all play in Chelsea tomorrow evening. The first game starts at 5pm. There will be no JH games played in Nowata tomorrow.
Homecoming will be Feb. 12th.
The junior high basketball games against Caney Valley tonight have been cancelled.
Prom is scheduled for April 17th. It is our plan to have a prom. We will make a final decison as we get closer to April and more information regarding COVID is available.
Our venue has cancelled, so we will be hosting prom in the gym.
We will post more details as we have them.
Our basketball tournament this week has been cancelled. Coaches will try and schedule additional games if the opportunity is available.
Our weightlifting meet has been postponed as well. We will advertise a new date soon.
