I’m sorry to announce that prom is being postponed. If things change, we are open to having prom at a later date. However, for now prom is postponed. Please do not invest in dresses, tuxedos or other related items. Rescheduling may not be a possibility.

The school nurse will be available Monday, March 23, 2020, to dispense medication back to the parents/guardians of students. The time will be 7:30 am until 2:00 pm. If this time will not work for you and you need the medication, please call the office at 918-273-0771 to make other arrangements. The office will not open until March 23, 2020.

Nowata Schools will be able to provide meals to students during the Coronavirus closure. Beginning Monday, March 23, lunch will be available to any student that needs it.
Meals can be picked up at the school or designated drop of areas on Monday at 11 AM -11:30 to pick up a meal drive through the drop off line at the elementary and the meal will be delivered to your car.
To receive meals, please fill out the online order form by 7:30 the day of pick-up. If you have any questions, please call the office at 918-273-0771 or 918-237-3425.

In regard to Prom, please do not purchase dresses or pay for tuxedo rentals yet. WE WILL HAVE PROM IF WERE ABLE TO. However, we will certainly modify expected dress codes and other such traditions based on necessity. Thank you for your understanding.

The State Board of Education has ordered all schools to cease all instruction and extra curricular activities until April 6 due to the threat of Covid-19. We will be allowed to feed our students during the closure instructions on this process will be coming soon.

The Ironmen Tennis Team competed in Pryor today.
Dillon Barnes made his first ever jump to 1 singles.... after a grueling 2 1/2 hour come from behind victory over Collinsville, Dillon fell to Pryor in a 5-7 battle before capturing 3rd place with a straight set win over Lincoln Christian.
In Doubles action, Gabe Velasco and Skyler Stevens teamed up for their first ever tourney. After defeating Miami in straight sets, they fell to Wagoner in a super tie break 10-12 in semi final action, before defeating Lincoln Christian to capture 3rd place.
Christian Farris advanced to the consolation finals before falling to Pryor in a super tie breaker.
Jayden Bowman and Josiah Clark also picked up their first win in doubles action defeating Pryor.


Today the Nowata HS Concert band earned an Excellent Rating (straight twos) on Stage for Concert Contest and a Superior Rating (a 1st place rating) in Sight Reading. I am very proud of my band. We have grown from 12 to 31 members and have earned the respect of our student body, staff, administrators, area directors, other bands and judges. Congratulations Nowata on a job well done. :)

Nowata 8th grader Spencer Bullen placed 1st in his first golf tournament of the year.


The Lady Ironmen Tennis Team competed in the Jim Hollis Pryor Invitational today.
The tourney included teams from Collinsville, Miami, Pryor, Tahlequah, Grove, Nowata, Lincoln Christian and Wagoner.
In Doubles action, after a hard fought 8-10 super tie break loss to Pryor in semi-final play, Mackenzie Barnes and Morgan Hobbs captured 3rd Place with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Lincoln Christian.
Also in doubles action, Aiden Thompson and Allysa Barnes advances to the Consolation finals with a straight set win over Tahlequah before falling to Wagoner in the consolation championship.
Macie Slocter in her first ever tournament action pulled off a thrilling 8-6 victory over Lincoln Christian

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma has a program to encourage their students with tribal memberships to strive for academic excellence by honoring them with gifts cards for excellence in the classroom. This semester Nowata High School Freshman Stormy Moore received 2 gift cards.
