Just a friendly reminder, the elementary school building does not open for students until 7:30 am. We have had students arriving earlier than that. For your child's safety, we are concerned that you know this information. Students dropped off before that time are unsupervised.

From Mrs. Prince: Yesterday the Nowata High School Band participated at the OSSAA District Band Festival in Beggs. The Band received a Good or 3 in stage performance and an Excellent or 2 in Sight Reading. This year just like many activities we have faced many challenges and obstacles as we prepared for the contest. Normally we have 8 weeks to prepare but with COVID and the weather it took us down to only 4 weeks. These kids never gave up and hurdled over every obstacle that was presented on our journey with contest this year. I am very proud of the kids and the performance they gave. So if you see one of them today please make sure to give them a pat on the back and congratulate them on a job well done. The HS Choir and MS Choir participated in a Festival Clinic with OKWU on Monday. Due to COVID all of the Choir Festivals were cancelled this year. Professor Stewart from OKWU was kind enough to bring his choir to Nowata on Monday to not only work with my choirs in a clinic setting but also adjudicate their performance as if they were at a festival. The High School Choir received a 2/3 split and the MS Choir received a 2. Once again these kiddos overcame many challenges to be able to do this. So if you see one of them today please make sure to give them a pat on the back and congratulate them on a job well done. Also thank you all for being so supportive and understanding this week with the bands and choirs. Members of both HS and MS Band have one more competition this week at OSSAA Solo Ensemble in Claremore. I will let you know on Monday how they did. This is a state qualifying tournament for several of them. =)
