At 7:15 am the electricity went off at the elementary. At this time it is unknown when it can be repaired. School is canceled for today.
Nowata Public Schools will be closed on Monday, January 18th, 2021, to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The elementary will resume on Tuesday, January 19th. The middle and high school will resume on Wednesday, January 20th, with activities continuing on the 21st.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; this is a usually occurring observance for our school system; due to an oversight the closure date was not added to the calendar. Thank you.

We are continually assessing the Covid-19 situation as in pertains to our community and school. We base our decisions on the most recent information. We are excited to be able to return to in-person learning at Glenn C. Moore Elementary on Monday, January the 18th 2021 barring any further complications.
Nowata middle school and high school are currently planning to reopen in-person learning on Wednesday, January 20th 2021.

High School basketball for this Friday has been postponed. We will announce a new date when we have that information.
Junior High basetball for Monday and Tuesday next week has been cancelled.
Seniors, if you want to take a free ACT test in March please email Ms. Hewitt at ddhewitt@npsok.org by 10am this Friday.

The games scheduled for Friday are still being played. The homecoming ceremony is postponed. We will reschedule homecoming once students are back in school and able to cast votes for the queen.
Nowata public schools will be virtual the week of 1/11/21. Any staff who is not quarantined please work from school.
There will be no Junior High basketball Monday. High School Tech students please attend tech, they are still in school.

Due to a late evening development, Nowata Public Schools, all sites, will pivot to virtual for the upcoming week. Middle School ballgames will be canceled tomorrow evening. Contact tracing has been completed, and all affected have been notified. Students will return to in-person instruction Monday, January 18th. Secondary students will continue using google classroom while elementary students receive information on virtual learning through ClassDojo. Thank you for your patience as we navigate this situation. Just for clarification, Friday's games against Foyil have been cancelled.
Coach Hollingshed and Coach Vann have worked hard to find games for our kids after COVID related cancillations. I apologize for so many changes, I am guessing there are more to come. Just know, the coaches are doing everything they can to get games played for our kids.
Unfortunately, the games scheduled for Friday, due to a potential COVID issue.

First, Thursday night junior high is 7th and 8th girls only. No boys. First game starts at 6pm
Second, Friday night the boys jv and girls varsity will play Foyil in Nowata. Girls start at 6:30 boys will play after.

Chelsea has updated their protocol for the JV and Varsity games tomorrow night.
They will allow 1 person entry for each player. You will show your ID at the gate. Masks and social distancing are required. You are asked not to stay after your athlete is done for the evening.
Girls basketball players tell Coach Vann by noon tomorrow who you are giving your 1 ticket to, boys tell Coach Hollingshed.
We will send them our ticket list, so if you are on the list showing your ID at the gate will verify you. Please be prepared to pay for the ticket at the gate.
Chelsea Public Schools has a no fans policy as part of their COVID policy. We are working on a way to broadcast the varsity games live tomorrow night. I will post link information tomorrow.
