Homecoming Update:
With the forcasted rain, we have some alternative plans ready in case they are necessary.
We will decide by 3:15 about the parade. Hopefully, we have our traditional parade at 4pm.
The Homecoming Ceremony is scheduled for 6:30. We will make a decision at 6pm based on the current weather situation and the forcasted weather. The alternative time for the ceremony would be halftime.
Our hope is to maintain our traditional parade at 4pm and homecoming ceremony at 6:30pm. Please check our social media outlets for updates.

Varsity softball for tonight have been moved to a 3:30 start time. We play at home today.
The homecoming parade will be Friday, 9-11-20 at 4pm. Everyone is welcome to participate in the parade. We will line up at the pool. The band, cheerleaders, homecoming court then high school class floats will be first. All others please lign up in a first come first serve fashion.

Teachers are currently updating grades routinely. Parents/guardians can look at their students google classroom page to get a look at how kids are doing.
I’ve confirmed that the free breakfast and lunch for students is a guaranteed program through Christmas. There is no need to apply, just come and eat.
Every Nowata student 18 years old and under can get free breakfast and lunch through Christmas.

Chelsea Public Schools Athletics COVID Plan
Chelsea Public Schools has implemented the following protocols with the intent of mitigating risk of exposure to entrance gate attendants, concession workers, and fans.
It is strongly recommended that fans practice social distancing and wear face coverings
Donation boxes will be placed at each entrance with a suggested donation of $5 per person
Concessions will be limited to drinks and pre-packaged items
All students/children 8th grade and below must be accompanied by an adult
Nowata High School and Middle School will be having a state mandated intruder drill at 9am.
Nowata High School and Middle School will be conducting an intruder drill tomorrow at approximately 9am. I will try to send out a reminder tomorrow however, it is only a drill. The State of Oklahoma mandates we practice various drills during the year.
Nowata High School State and National Assessment Selection
Nowata Schools has chosen the ACT as part of the state contract with the Oklahoma State Department of Education and ACT. We will administer this assessment in the Spring of 2021 to all eligible 11th-grade students. This will be at no cost to the students or families. NOWATA vs OKU Football game updates:
Senior night will start at 6:30 this evening.
We will recognize the millitary this evening by asking them to stand at during half time so that we can thank them. If a full season plays out, having our more traditional recognition ceremony is a possibility.
Both teams will wear their school jerseys. The millitary jerseys are unfotrunatley unavailable this evening.
Both bands will be playing at halftime.
We are asking that you wear a face covering this evening. COVID cases are rising in Nowata county.
For clarification, the Junior High football festival is Saturday.
We have a Junior High football festival in Hominy at 9:30am. Players be at the field-house no later than 8am.
