Summer Feeding is almost here!! Tomorrow will be our first Thursday to hand out meals. Just as a reminder the two times to pick up meals are 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. or 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. We have attached a map to direct you on how to come in to get the meals. Please stay in your car and follow the map and signs. They will be handed out in front of the new gym. You will be asked the name of the parent the meals are under. Nowata Public Schools is seeking an office assistant to join our team. The office assistant will work collaboratively with the principal, teachers, staff, students, and families to promote a positive school culture, provide effective student support services, and ensure the overall success and well-being of our students.
Job Summary:
The Office Assistant provides administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the office. The assistant performs a variety of clerical and administrative tasks, including but not limited to answering phones, scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and assisting with general office duties as needed.
Responsibilities:
Answering Phones: Greet and assist visitors, answer incoming phone calls, and direct calls to appropriate individuals.
Scheduling and Appointment Management: Schedule appointments and maintain calendars for office staff. Coordinate meetings and appointments as requested.
Data Entry and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, databases, and filing systems.
Office Supplies and Inventory Management: Monitor and order office supplies and equipment as needed. Keep track of inventory and ensure adequate stock levels.
Assistance with Projects: Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by office managers or supervisors. This may include research, data analysis, or other administrative tasks.
Mail Handling: Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail for delivery. Process incoming and outgoing shipments as needed.
General Office Maintenance: Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the office space. Coordinate with cleaning staff or maintenance personnel as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in office administration is a plus.
Proven experience as an office assistant, administrative assistant, or in a similar role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other office software.
Knowledge of student information systems would be beneficial.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable and punctual with a professional demeanor.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
